Sharon,
Thank you so much for presenting this fabulous workshop for The Volunteer Center and our nonprofits. You really made a hit! Overall, the comments were terrific! I would like to have you come back next year and if you would, do this workshop again.

Perform public speaking skillfully

Presentation Skills

"Speech is power: speech is to persuade, to convert, to compel"

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet, Lecturer, and Essayist: 1803-1882

You'll learn to:
  • Plan your presentation
  • Tweak your content
  • Let go of fear - and even have fun!
  • Deliver your presentation

A presentation involves 4 fundamental stages - planning the presentation, developing the content, delivering the speech, and then evaluating the results. Each of theses stages requires strategic consideration, and diverse skills.- conceptual, organizational, speaking, listening, and social savvy - come into play.

Letting go of fear usurps some people's attention. Others are adept at speaking before a crowd, but look for support in getting started. Some of us know how to format our speech and need help with the dynamics of delivery.

We call on the same skills that we use for public speaking for a variety of other purposes - when we interview for a job or are the interviewer, at business meetings, and even when introducing ourselves and others. Wherever you are in your process, we'll make sure that you're ready to deliver a compelling message, and encourage you to reach ever-higher levels of expertise!
